The temple of Besakih, the largest and most sacred temple of Bali, standing on the slopes of Mount Agung.
Besakih comprises 86 or so temples within 22 temple complexes on seven terraces. It is also known as the Mother Temple as it houses the ancestral shrines of all Hindu Balinese.
Temples are generally empty except during ceremonies. Non-worshipers are not allowed into the temple grounds.
Within the paramount sanctuary there are tiny lodges and pagodas with layered roofs (merus) as well as seats for the gods, Vishnu, Brahma and Siva. The are no statues of the gods who are represented by the colours, red- Brahma, black - Vishnu and White – Siva

Besakih The enchanted island of Nusa Lembongan lies just 20 kms east of mainland Bali. Reachable only by boat this natural, unspoiled island with its clear calm waters is ideal for numerous water activities, including diving, snorkeling and fishing and so on. Until recently, the inhabitants were mainly seaweed farmers and fishermen.
